Costs for Members
Gliding is the cheapest way to learn to fly.
For a pre-solo member there are three main costs:
- Annual membership
- Launch Fee - Charged for getting into the air
- Airtime Fee - Charged for every minute you fly
The number and length of flights you have will depend on the weather, how busy it is that day, and what stage your are in your training.
Student Membership - £80
Staff/Alumni Membership - £575 (Includes full membership to Cambridge Gliding Club)
Please note that mature students of significant wealth may be asked to pay Staff membership rates.

Flight Cost = Launch + Airtime
Launch cost depends on method of launch, height of launch, and if you are flying with an instructor or flying solo. More information on launch methods. Higher launches result in longer flights, and increase your chance of soaring. The launch methods most commonly used by our members are in bold.
