There are a range of ways to get to Gransden Lodge Airfield.

By Car

The easiest way to travel is by car. The drive takes around half an hour. We organise regular trips to the airfield by car, you can check our transport calendar to see if there are trips being organised soon. Drivers may ask you to make a contribution to their fuel costs.

If you are driving yourself please let the flying co-ordinator know so we can inform other members.

By Bike

Many CUCG members cycle to the airfield, it takes between 0:45 to 1:15 depending on how good your bike is. Most of the route is along flat counry roads. There is a cycle path that follows the road from Cambridge to Toft, and from there it is only a few miles to the airfield.

By Public Transport

There are two bus routs you can take. You can find bus timetables here.

18/18A Bus (Cambridge - Gamlingay) - Monday to Saturday

The Approximate Route of the 18 Bus is shown above, the best place to get off is at Bourne, and then walk to the airfield using the same route as the cycle route shown above.

City 4 / Uni 4 Bus (Cambridge to Cambourne) Monday to Sunday

The aproximate route of the City 4 / Uni 4 bus is shown above. You will need to walk from Cambourne to Gransden Lodge Airfield, but you may be able to find somebody to give you a lift to Cambourne on the way back.
